Dr. Ghazi A. Damanhouri obtained his degree of MB ChB from Medical College, Al Azhar University in 1976 and DCP (RPGMS) from London University in 1984. He became Fellow of Royal College of Pathologist of Australia in 1992 and Fellow of the Royal College of Physician of Ireland Dublin in 2000 while member of The Royal College of Pathologists London in 2001. He was also appointed as dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences from 2005-2009. Currently, he is Director of King Fahd Medical Research Center, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. His major research interest is in the area of Hematology. Apart from this he is continuing as the Director of Post-Graduate Studies in Hematology, Hematology Department, King Adbulaziz University, Jeddah and working as a Regional Advisor for Royal College of Pathologists, London, UK as well. He is also President of Saudi Thalassemia Society, chairman and member of various committees. He has published his research work in several reputed international scientific journals and presented his work in various conferences and symposia all over the world.
